Forbes’ 10 richest in Africa

Last year, FORBES came up with their list of richest Africans and while we always marvel at the sheer wealth amassed by the individuals on this list, it’s sad to see that the names on this list has barely changed over the years.

This obviously means that the rich has managed to keep their fortune intact, limiting entry to newcomers while showing that the wealth gap in African countries keeps widening.

**** it should be noted that the Wealth Gap problem is not just an isolation to African Nations. The United States of America for example is one of the major countries struggling with its wealth gap and in recent years, the problem has only gotten worse proving that this is a Global Issue.

    1. Marissa Diggs…AlikoDangote is an African am proud of him, go back n check on Sierra Leone then come back n talk dear…. Know this today u can’t compare an individual to a whole country in any way… Because a country has more than what GDP is asking for

    2. It could be any other country. Take for example Togo-Lome. I just checked ur GDP for 2015 and it’s not even way close to that of Togo.
I guess that country was used as an example so as to attract the billionaire attention to invest in the betterment of the likelihood of your citizens
      #commonsense.

    1. William Dumbuya – Here are some facts to chew on:
According to IMF, Sierra Leone’s estimated GDP for 2015 stands at $6Billion while it’s International Reserves sits at $533Million. While GDP may not be the most appropriate measure of a nation’s wealth it does tell an important economic story.

If you decide however to look at Sierra Leone’s PPP of $16Billion instead of it’s GDP, Aliko Dangote’s net worth of almost $17Billion still surpasses it. The idea is not to bash the country of Sierra Leone but rather to highlight the issue of wealth disparity….a problem experienced even by the United States, a nation with the world’s highest GDP.

  1. Why compare an individual to a whole nation.?? And in this case why Sierra Leone.? Am not from there but I will defend my fellow W/A anyday anytime.. Hw much does this dude have at all.. He shud use his so called worth to help Nigeria fight Boko Haram.

  2. Some people can just talk, I don’t now if its the food or what, iam proud of aliko dangote as an African man, but Sierra Leone is too big for him, the u no that up till now he don’t finish what he start in Freetown, boy even bill gate can’t be match to mama salone
